getting here

By car, by bus, or by Grab.

However you arrive, the entrance is step-free and the lift takes you straight to our floor.

By car

Free parking for the first hour in the Island 88 car park directly under and beside the building, with a sheltered drop-off lane at the lobby. From George Town: 15 minutes along Gurney Drive. From the airport at Bayan Lepas: 35 minutes via the Coastal Highway.

Rapid Penang bus

Routes 101 and 102 (Komtar – Teluk Bahang) stop at Jalan Tanjong Tokong about a 4-minute walk from our door. Tap your Touch'n'Go card on board, or pay the driver a small fare in cash.

Grab & taxi

The closest pickup pin is "Island 88, Tanjong Tokong." Most Grab drivers know the building by name. Drop-off at the main lobby — about RM 12 from George Town and RM 25 from the airport on a typical weekday.

From the mainland

Coming from Butterworth or Seberang Perai? Cross the Penang Bridge (Bridge 1) for the quickest route — about 45 minutes door to door. The Penang Ferry is the scenic alternative; take the car ferry, then drive 20 minutes up the coast.

before you come

Visiting questions, answered.

Is there parking at UFOREA Penang?

Yes — Island 88 has its own multi-level car park directly under and beside the building. Parking is free for the first hour and a small flat rate afterwards. There's a sheltered drop-off lane right at the lobby, so on a rainy afternoon you can step out of the car straight into the lift.

Can we bring food, or is there a café on site?

Outside food and drinks aren't permitted inside UFOREA — it's a hygiene and allergen-control policy. The Amuse Café beside the entrance serves coffee, desserts, ice cream and light snacks (no full main meals), and Island 88 also has family restaurants and a Starbucks on the ground floor — so with same-day re-entry on your wristband stamp you can step out for a proper lunch and come back. Baby food and sealed water bottles are fine.

Is there an age limit?

A Child Ticket covers ages 12 months to 15 years; guests 16 and over pay the Adult Ticket — especially popular with ages 2–9. Babies under 12 months and seniors 60+ enter free; OKU card holders 50% off.

There's a Quiet Toddler Hour Monday to Thursday from 11am–1pm — fewer big kids, gentler music, ideal for under-3s.

Are strollers and wheelchairs welcome?

Yes — the entrance is step-free, lifts run from the car park to our floor, and the layout inside is wide and stroller-friendly. There's a stroller park near the entrance if you'd rather not push it around between zones.
