when to come

What time should we visit?

UFOREA is open every single day, so there’s no bad day to come — but the feel of the floor changes from morning calm to weekend buzz. Here’s how to pick your moment.

Opening hours

11–10 · 10–10Weekdays 11am–10pm; weekends, PH & school holidays 10am–10pm, all year. Last entry is 21:00, which still leaves a full hour of play before close.

Quietest times

Weekday mornings are calmest. The Quiet Toddler Hour runs Monday to Thursday, 10:00–12:00 — softer sound and gentler crowds for little ones.

Weekday vs weekend

Weekdays are quieter and cheaper (from RM 18 adult). Weekends, public holidays and school breaks are livelier — arrive at opening or after 4pm to dodge the midday peak.

A typical visit lasts two to four hours, but there are no time slots — one ticket buys unlimited play right up to closing. See current prices on the tickets page.

finding us

How do we get to UFOREA?

We’re on the upper floor of the Island 88 development in Tanjong Tokong, on Penang island — an easy hop from George Town, the northern beaches and across the bridge.

By car. Head for Island 88, 118 Jalan Tanjong Tokong. There’s parking on site at the development — park, then take the lift up to UFOREA on the upper floor.

By Grab or taxi. Set your destination to Island 88, Tanjong Tokong (UFOREA is inside, upstairs). Drop-off is right at the building entrance, which is handy on a rainy day or with a sleepy toddler in tow.

pack light

What should we bring?

Honestly, not much — UFOREA is an indoor wonderland, so leave the sunhats and sandcastle buckets at home. This short checklist covers everything that makes the day easier.

Grip socksAnti-slip socks are required for everyone playing. Forgot yours? Buy a pair at the counter.
A refillable water bottleActive play is thirsty work — bring a bottle so the little ones stay hydrated between zones.
A light layerThe play floor is air-conditioned and comfortable, so a thin jumper keeps cooler kids (and parents) cosy.
Spare clothesPlanning a splash at Discovery Cove’s water play? Pack a dry change just in case.
Your stamped wristbandKeep it on if you pop out — it’s your free pass back in for the rest of the day.
A little cash or cardFor socks, snacks at Amuse Café and any souvenirs. Cards and major e-wallets are welcome too.
comfort & care

What facilities are on site?

UFOREA is built for whole families — tiny babies, big kids and the grown-ups who need somewhere comfy to sit. Here’s what you’ll find under one roof.

Lockers

Secure lockers near the entrance for bags, shoes and valuables, so hands are free for play.

Pram & stroller parking

A tidy pram-parking area by the entrance — leave the stroller, scoop up your little one and go.

Nursing & baby-change

A private nursing and baby-change room for feeds and nappy changes, away from the buzz.

Amuse Café & Cozy Nook

Amuse Café by UFOREA sits beside the entrance — coffee, beverages, desserts, ice cream and light snacks (no full main meals; mall restaurants are 5–10 min walk); VIP members enjoy 30% off café. The Cozy Nook parents’ lounge has soft bean bags, charging ports and clear sightlines.

Free Wi-Fi

Complimentary Wi-Fi throughout, so you can work, scroll or share the day’s photos from the lounge.

First aid

Trained staff and a first-aid station on hand for the small bumps and grazes that come with big adventures.

Step-free access

Lift access throughout means prams and wheelchairs roll straight in — no stairs to negotiate.

a gentle rhythm

How should we plan the day?

There’s no “right” order — but little ones do best with a calm-to-active-to-calm arc. Here’s a relaxed flow that keeps energy high without the meltdown finish.

1
On arrival · ease in

Settle, sock up, start soft

Pop bags in a locker, pull on grip socks, and let little ones warm up somewhere gentle — the make-believe play of Mini Town or dressing up at Makeover Castle is a calm, confident start.

2
Mid-morning · full throttle

Burn the big energy

Now they’re warmed up, point them at the active zones — climb and slide through Adventure Trails, leap into the Galaxy Zone, and splash at Discovery Cove. This is the loud, joyful, sleep-well-tonight stretch.

3
Lunch · step out & back

Refuel — on the same wristband

Grab a bite at Amuse Café by the entrance, or use same-day re-entry to head downstairs at Island 88 for a proper meal and come back on the same stamped wristband.

4
Afternoon · wind down

Dial it back to dreamy

Finish somewhere soft and sensory — the glow of Light Fantasy or the toddler-gentle Little Paradise — then a quiet sit in the Cozy Nook before home. Celebrating? The Birthday Party Zone hosts the cake-and-candles finale. See all nine in the full zone guide.

safe play

What are the rules?

Just a handful, and all common-sense — they keep the wonderland clean, calm and safe for every child on the floor.

Grip socks requiredEveryone playing wears anti-slip socks — for hygiene and safe footing. Buy them at the counter if needed.
Adult supervisionEvery child needs a chaperoning adult on site. Sightlines from the Cozy Nook make it easy to keep watch.
Cleaned daily, deep-cleaned weeklyFloors, toys and makeover tools are cleaned every day (toilets a few times a day), and the whole space gets a full deep-clean once a week.
Sock & hygiene policyPlease skip play if your child is unwell, and wash or sanitise hands after eating. Full details on our health & safety page.
everyone’s welcome

Is UFOREA accessible and sensory-friendly?

Calm corners and gentle mornings

Access is step-free throughout, so prams and wheelchairs move freely between every zone. The Cozy Nook gives a softer, quieter space to regroup whenever the floor feels like a lot.

For sensory-sensitive children, the Quiet Toddler Hour (Mon–Thu, 11:00–13:00) offers calmer crowds and softer sound. For more on choosing the right zones for under-fives, read our guide to the best indoor playground for toddlers in Penang, and tell us about any specific needs on WhatsApp — we’re glad to help you plan.

quick answers

Planning questions.

Do I need to book ahead, or can we just walk in?
Walk-ins are welcome any day 10am–10pm (last entry 9pm). On weekends, public holidays and school breaks it gets busy, so a quick WhatsApp message to reserve helps you skip the queue. Mornings are quietest. See live prices on the tickets page.
Can we leave and come back the same day?
Yes — your wristband stamp is valid the whole operating day, so you can step out for lunch and return at no extra cost. Lots of families split the day into a morning, a break, and an afternoon session.
Is there parking?
Yes. UFOREA is on the upper floor of the Island 88 development at 118 Jalan Tanjong Tokong, which has on-site parking — park and take the lift up. By Grab or taxi, set your destination to Island 88, Tanjong Tokong. More routes in our getting-here guide.
Are strollers and prams allowed?
Absolutely. Access is step-free by lift, so prams and wheelchairs roll straight in, and there’s a pram-parking area near the entrance. A nursing and baby-change room is on site too.
Is food available?
There’s Amuse Café beside the entrance and the Cozy Nook serving drinks and light bites, with more food downstairs at Island 88. With same-day re-entry you can also head out for a full meal and come back on the same wristband.
